bzzzzzz...what's that sound?

it's the second grade SPELLING BEE.

way to go, carson, for being selected as one of the second graders to participate. you did a great job and we're proud of you.

whose idea was it...

to have water day AND crazy hair day on the same day????

hudson left the house with a funky blue faux hawk. within seconds of participating in water day it was gone. glad i made that trip to the beauty supply store. LOL.

where's carson, you ask? he's WAY too cool to join in for baby things like crazy hair and pajama day. boo. either that or he's smart enough to know that his pic could end up on mommy's blog. :)

he loves me...he loves me not. he likes me. he likes me not.

hudson came home from school with little envelopes for bobby and me. i opened mine first. read it out loud. awwwww. sooooo sweet. and then bobby opened his. let's just say i couldn't stop laughing. and i'm still laughing. so so so funny. sorry babe. :)

the chocolate lounge

daddy's girl. xoxo.

doesn't get any sweeter than a CHOCOLATE party, does it? alexis had an all girl bash at a super cool place called the chocolate lounge. the girls all got dressed up & dined on chocolate covered EVERYTHING.
check out this sucker...isn't it just STUNNING?

jordan earned rights to this title as she prepared for her night out. and i learned an important lesson: next time have someone else do her hair and makeup. even though she turned out quite lovely, it was not worth the emotional AGONY of reassuring her that i knew what i was doing. LOL.

alexis & jordan (well, and audrey too :)

beautiful girls. happy sweet 16 alexis.

austin & rachel * band formal 2010

when rachel asked austin if he would escort her to her band formal, i have to say i was THRILLED to dress him up in something other than navy blue. while i think he looks very handsome in his air force ROTC suit, it's refreshing to see him in something a little lighter, a little more fun.

and rachel looked beautiful in her dress. you two are TOO cute and i love you both. xoxo.

chubby bunny

chubby bunny - a game played by two or more players. one person at a time places a marshmallow in their mouth and then says 'chubby bunny.' this is repeated one marshmallow at a time, repeating 'chubby bunny' with each additional marshmallow added. players turn is over when they can no longer say 'chubby bunny' or when they spit out the marshmallow.

or when mom comes home and discovers that four kids are playing this upstairs while she's been away LOL.

i should be happy that the four of them still play together right? i should not be worried about the possibility of sticky marshmallowey goo on the boys beds. right?

jordan documented the whole event with my camera.

the good news (for me): they didn't get any marshmallow on the beds, floors, clothes.

the bad news (for them): there are no more marshmallows in the house for them to repeat the fun.

happy mother's day!

today we had a fantastically kicked back day.

i have not touched a dish. have not washed a single piece of laundry. have not fed the dog. and even snuck away for my very own starbucks, without having to share a single sip. it's the little things :)

the kids helped me prepare what is probably the fanciest dish i have ever made for just our family. hudson kept asking if i was SURE no one was coming for dinner.

it's jamie oliver's recipe: http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/chicken-recipes/perfect-roast-chicken and trust me when i say that if i can make this, then ANYONE can.

the kids had fun chopping up all the veggies. now if only i could get them to actually EAT them.

bobby bought me tulips...my flower of choice.

and my only request from the kids was that they each make me a card. and each of them brought their own unique style to the table. i have voted jordan's my favorite because her interpretation of me is VERY SKINNY. that jordan is one smart cookie. LOL

hudson's card ^^^^ wow, i'm so tall. and bigger than a rainbow.

carson drew me some sort of transformer thing. but he 'softened' it up a bit by making the eyes out of hearts. LOL.

seeee ^^^^^ how skinny i am on j's card? she wants something...i'm sure of it. LOL

i love this crazy crew that i have been blessed to call my own. happy mother's day to you and yours. xoxo.
