less than 2 weeks til school + 110 heat index =

an afternoon at the pool.

back to school in ohio meant windows open, breeze blowing the curtains...the sounds of the high school band practice nearby during the day, the sound of football games at night.

i miss autumn. it's just NOT the same here...

but neither are the winters and so you take the good with the bad :)

anyhow, back to today...we took a much needed break and escaped to the pool for a bit.

here are some pics from the day:

up until this year, we SERIOUSLY thought hudson was missing the stuff that makes your skin tan. i can't think of the name of it right now, but i know it starts with an M. lol. anyhow, this year, it showed up and he's a little brown berry :)

austin has SHOT UP over the summer...jordan, well, not so much :) my parents' realtor asked her if she was going into fifth grade. NOT what an eighth grader wants to hear :)

freckle faces! LOL

my boys...awwwwww...

i LOVE this picture. big brother helping little brother (instead of fighting with him).

carson (minus one tooth) trying out his new scuba mask. this CRACKS me up.

fuddy-duddy with his sp;iderman towel and shark floaty. i heart him.

so done.
and headed home. yawn.

two milestones, two kids, one afternoon

this afternoon two of my boys have officially moved on to new chapters in their lives:

hudson is enrolled in kindergarten for REAL now (we were waiting on his birth certificate which F.I.N.A.L.L.Y arrived...nothing like waiting til the last minute!)

and austin is enrolled in driver's education classes. yes. for REAL.

to the students and teachers @ hudson's school: put in those earplugs...he's a talker (or rather a singer...an all around noise-maker).

to the entire state of texas: buckle your seatbelts extra tight. 6 hours of course studies and then austin can hit the road.
