less than 2 weeks til school + 110 heat index =

an afternoon at the pool.

back to school in ohio meant windows open, breeze blowing the curtains...the sounds of the high school band practice nearby during the day, the sound of football games at night.

i miss autumn. it's just NOT the same here...

but neither are the winters and so you take the good with the bad :)

anyhow, back to today...we took a much needed break and escaped to the pool for a bit.

here are some pics from the day:

up until this year, we SERIOUSLY thought hudson was missing the stuff that makes your skin tan. i can't think of the name of it right now, but i know it starts with an M. lol. anyhow, this year, it showed up and he's a little brown berry :)

austin has SHOT UP over the summer...jordan, well, not so much :) my parents' realtor asked her if she was going into fifth grade. NOT what an eighth grader wants to hear :)

freckle faces! LOL

my boys...awwwwww...

i LOVE this picture. big brother helping little brother (instead of fighting with him).

carson (minus one tooth) trying out his new scuba mask. this CRACKS me up.

fuddy-duddy with his sp;iderman towel and shark floaty. i heart him.

so done.
and headed home. yawn.

I am so glad that you had some time to sneak back and post. I LOVE to read your writings. Makes me feel like I am reading a book! It truly takes me away to the place you are writing about.

Love the "brother helping brother" and the scuba mask!

I love the Pinks!!!!!

Hey Wen - it's 66 degrees, all the windows are open, the cicadas are singing - it's the most wonderful time of the year;)

Cassi is starting Kindergarten too! We're sending her to a private school in Berea because they have all day kindergarten (what does Strongsville do with all that tax money anyway???) She's a smart kid and needs the group interaction (also, I could find myself incarcerated if she went only 2 1/2 hours a day) Love her, but you know . . . I'll cry like an idiot the first day (I was inconsolable the first day of preschool 2 years ago . . .)

Can't believe Austin is driving! I'll be in my 6th decade of life by the time Cassi gets to drive:)

Hope you are all doing well (looks like TX agrees with y'all!
