30 days of thanksgiving. DAY SIX.

i'm behind a day on my thanksgiving blog.

yesterday was a big day.  not only was it election day, but it was also parent-teacher conference day.

i'm thankful.  for freedom.  for education.

i worked all day (i'm thankful for my job as well).  and then my friend lori and i attended a party at the westin hotel with gobs and gobs of other people while we waited for the election results.

it was fun to get out.  to feel like a grown up.  lol.  lori belongs to a wine club and has a wine cellar in her beautiful home.  we went to the bar and she told me to pick something to drink.  i am really NOT much of a drinker (unless you include my iced coffee).  so i picked out a pretty PINK wine.  based on color alone.  turns out pink TASTES yummy :)

met lots of interesting people.  there was a huge flock of norwegians at the party.  lol.  spoke to the sweetest boy (sweetest, not swedish).  he was absolutely precious and i wanted to bring him home to jordan.  i was also dying to get a picture of him because he was SO DANG ADORABLE...but i thought that might be creepy so i refrained.  lol.  seriously though, i learned a lot about norweigia.  they have cheese that looks like peanut butter that is apparently to die for.  and yes, i'm kidding.  i know it's really norway, not norweigia :)

one of the craziest things that happened was my boss from NINETEEN EIGHTY SEVEN walked RIGHT UP TO ME and started talking to me.  it was hard for me to comprehend he would recognize me.  turns out he DIDN'T.  he thought i was someone else.  lololol.  but i was able to tell him he was my FIRST OFFICIAL JOB IN VIRGINIA BEACH when i moved here.  weird, huh?

we ended up at a restaurant after the party.  who knows, maybe if the republicans had won they would have served food.  but alas, we didn't, and they didn't.  and we were hungry.

the conversation at the table turned to celebrity look alikes.  there was a dude at the table who not only LOOKED but also SOUNDED just like the red headed doctor from grey's anatomy.

the group decided that i was more emily blunt than julianne moore.  and i have been ordered to watch the ADJUSTMENT BUREAU.  it has matt damon in it.  i think i can handle that assignment :)

today i am thankful for fun memories & a night on the town.  and i'm also thankful for my warm comfy bed that i'm about to go nap in.  g'night y'all.
